Last summer’s geranium project was a great success, thanks to the involvement of so many people in displaying geraniums on their property. We took advantage of funding from Come Home Year 2022 to put 14 concrete pots around the town. We’re adding four more this year and hope to see the same lovely blooms in front of as many (or more) homes as last year. There’ll be a reception and display of photos again. Please send us a photo of your geraniums to include in the slide show. Who knows, there may be a prize or two! And don’t forget that we still have some limited-edition prints of Jeanette Jobson’s beautiful “Heart’s Content Geraniums” painting for sale at the Baccalieu Gallery – a great keepsake for visitors or family living away.
Another attraction for the community from the Heart’s Content Community Development Corporation. This Leave A Book Take a Book cabinet made by one of our board members, Gord Tavenor, is modelled after the Cable Houses.
June 19, 2021 - Ted Rowe, Gordon Tavernor and Wallace Rendell of Heart's Content Community Development Corporation started the distribution yesterday of geranium to the many people who have donated and supported the Corporation and its endeavors.
"We have plans for geraniums and Heart's Content!! Keep your ears and eyes tuned!"
This idea comes from one of our most energetic members of the board, Wallace Rendell, who remembers the geraniums all around Heart's Content years before. We think it is a marvelous idea, let's start the trend!
